Sound Factory Students to Perform with Old Crow Medicine Show
On Friday, May 9, students from the Sound Factory, part of Music for Everyone's after-school initiative, will showcase their talents with the renowned two-time Grammy-winning band Old Crow Medicine Show at the American Music Theatre. The concert, starting at 8 p.m., marks the second time these students will collaborate with the acclaimed Nashville-based Americana group, famous for their hit "Wagon Wheel." Earlier in March, Ketch Secor, the lead vocalist of Old Crow Medicine Show, engaged with students at J.P. McCaskey High School, where he discussed his documentary "Louder Than Guns" and performed alongside them. Music for Everyone, a nonprofit supporting music education in Lancaster, views this concert as a significant achievement for the Sound Factory program, serving as a hopeful conclusion to the recent discussions about gun violence. The program offers free music education and performance experiences to students throughout Lancaster County.
